Lisboa Card: What is included? How does the card work?

The Lisboa Card (Lisbon Card) is the official City Card of the Portuguese capital Lisbon.

It is issued by the city’s tourism organisation. The main aim of the Lisboa Card is to help tourists and visitors to discover the sights of the city without having to plan too much.

The Lisboa Card offers:

1 Free and unlimited use of public transport in Lisbon.

This includes the metro (including airport transfers), Carris buses and trams, including the E28 line with its historic trains.
Also included are the Elevadores (funiculars), the historic Elevador de Santa Justa lift and the train connections to the coastal towns of Cascais and Estoril as well as to Sintra or Setúbal.

This means you can reach most of the sights and make day trips to the Atlantic coast without having to buy another ticket.

2 Free admission
to 51 sights, attractions and museums.

Reduced admission to many other sightseeing highlights.

3Discounts

for e.g. Fado concerts, bike hire, participating restaurants and shops. This includes excursions and boat trips on the Tagus or tuk-tuk tours.

4Fast Track
No queue

You can skip the queue at the ticket office at 12 attractions with the Lisboa Card. In Lisbon, this VIP access is called ‘Fast Track’.

In addition to modern public transport, you can also use the historic 28E streetcar free of charge with the Lisboa Card.

With a longer period of validity, the Lisboa Card becomes significantly cheaper per day.

The period of use is not tied to calendar days. You can use the Lisboa Card for 24h, 48h or 72h from the start date and time.

Compared to sightseeing passes in other European capitals, the Lisboa Card is inexpensive.
This is also due to the fact that it is not organised by a private company, but by the city’s tourism authority. The main aim of the Lisboa Card is not to make as much profit as possible, but to help tourists and visitors discover the sights of the city.
